A Sunny Day . . . and a Challenge Entry

Good evening all!

Well, what a gorgeous day it has been here in Nottingham today . . . hope it’s been sunny where you are? The promise is of an even better day tomorrow . . . let’s wait and see!

I have a card to share with you this evening that I’ve been working on this afternoon after I finished a few jobs around the house!  I found a challenge over here which has a brand new challenge every Sunday.  I’m just in time to enter this weeks!! lol!!

I’ve used an adorable image from Krista Smith.  This was a freebie earlier this week.  It is now available to buy from Saturated Canary.

When I’m colouring in my images with my alcohol markers I always forget which pens I’ve used.  SO, I thought it was a good idea to start writing these down!!   Some of my Spectrum Noir pens are starting to run out and I’ve hadn’t gotten round to ordering the refills for all the pens that I need.  I have a small collection of Promarkers and I’ve found that they work really well with my Spectrum Noir pens.  I guess this is because they are both alcohol markers.  So, the pens I’ve used are:

  • Hair – 38, 37 & 35 (Spectrum Noirs) & Honeycomb (Promarkers)
  • Dress – 185, 144 (Spectrum Noirs) & Denim Blue (Promarkers) 137, 8 (Spectrum Noirs) & Cocktail Pink (Promarkers)
  • Bow – 137, 8 (Spectrum Noirs) & Cocktail Pink (Promarkers)
  • Skin – E51 (Copic Ciao) & 142 & 132 (Spectrum Noirs)
  • Eyes – Bluebell (Promarkers)
  • Cat – WG1, WG3 & WG5 (Spectrum Noirs)

Here’s a close-up.

I am going to enter this card into the following challenges.

  • Digi – Jules from Saturated Canary, now available to purchase here

SC Guest Design Team Call

Good evening

Hope everyone’s had a good week . . . I’m certainly very glad it’s the weekend. I’m planning to have a relaxing weekend, and if the weather continues as it has the last few days . . . I will not be venturing outdoors!!

If you’ve been reading my little blog since I started it (only a month ago!) . . . you may have guessed by now that I love the images created by Krista Smith. For those of you who don’t know, Krista runs a store called Saturated Canary.  There’s also a challenge blog here where you can find fabulous inspiration form the very talented Design Team.  Krista is running a Guest Design Team call on her challenge blog.  So, I thought I would have a go.  I followed a sketch for my card – I came across the sketch here.  It was for a Design Team call for Teddy Bo so time ago.  I never entered into the competition but saw the sketch and liked the simplicity of it.  The sketch came from this lady.

The sketch Tammy put together for the DT call over at Teddy Bo is this one.

And here’s the card I put together using the sketch for my Guest Design Team entry.

Supplies:

  • Card blank – made from Silk Art cardstock from Hunkdory
  • Backing paper from Hunkdory (I think it was the Flutterby Wishes double sided papers)
  • Aqua backing paper – from Papermania Capsule Collection DVD Rom (for Docrafts Digital Designer software)
  • Cream cardstock – from stash
  • Bubbles digi stamp – from Saturated Canary
  • Colouring medium – Spectrum Noir pens from Crafter’s Companion
  • Glamour dust on bubbles – from stash
  • Sentiment – from Simple Sentiments set by Pink Petticoat (set now retired)
  • Brads – from stash

Thanks for stopping by.

Brand New Challenge Blog

Good morning!

Hooray, it’s Friday! I wish I could get a bit more excited about the weather!!

Just wanted to let you all know that if you’ve not heard about it . . . there’s a brand new challenge blog starting in August.  It’s called Songbird Challenges and the blog can be found here.

There’s a DT call for the challenge and you can find out all about it over on the blog.  The closing date for the DT call is today, so you’ve still got a bit of time to enter the DT call.   The first challenge is due to start on 6 August.

Thanks for stopping by.
